Sleek edges polish off this compelling sterling silver cuff with oxidized framework texture. Systematic, deep filed lines create a gridded network of polished silver islands sloping across the wrist. This piece rests comfortably on the wrist and adds a touch of attractive sophistication.
Matagi Sorensen has been creating objects of art since he was a child. Although living primarily in the high desert of the Verde Valley in Arizona, his family spent time in the Phoenix area. Making arts provided a creative refuge as well as a way to contribute to the family’s income. With the realization that he wanted to pursue a career as a jewelry designer and craftsman, Matagi attended Northern Arizona University where he studied metalsmithing and jewelry. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2011. Upon graduation, Matagi’s career has flourished with collectors and shows around the country. His contemporary style, which merges an urban sensibility with natural elements, reflects the two worlds he has moved through since his youth. Matagi is a member of the Yavapai Apache Nation and currently lives and works in Phoenix. His work can be found throughout Arizona, the United States and Europe.
