Iznik Ceramic 8 Inch Bowl

Iznik pottery, known as Cini is a highly decorated and colorful ceramic named after the town in western Anatolia, Turkey. Based on 8th and 9th century designs and colors, its hayday was in the late 18th century where it was prized by the Ottoman sultans. Original Iznik ceramics were created in imitation of Chinese & Persian porcelain as their inspiration came along the Silk Route. Today in the region of Anatolia there are numerous cooperatives and family groups that continue this tradition.
