Francis Jones is an award winning Navajo artist and has been working in silver since the age of 14. She learned the art of silversmithing from her father, a fourth generation silversmith. Her family was among the first to make sand casted jewelry. Paying homage to her roots, she has combined that style with her “track” styles to develop the method she is famous for today. She has won several awards for her execution of fine casting, done the way her ancestors did it long ago. When not making jewelry, Francis is raising her grandchildren and still tends her sheep daily.
