Hiroshige 2023 Wall Calendar

Utagawa Hiroshige’s delicately hued images invite you to experience the natural world. Depicting tempestuous seas, the moon reflected in a rice field, and fireworks over a serene bay, these landscapes and idyllic village scenes illustrate the Edo period, an unprecedented two centuries of peace and prosperity in Japan. These “pictures of the floating world,” or ukiyo-e artworks, capture fleeting moments of beauty in everyday life. Hiroshige was one of the last great masters of traditional Japanese woodblock printmaking.

12" x 12" wall calendar. (12" by 24" open).
