Hops Earrings

These fishhook earrings have a hops bud patinaed in matte gold. The bud is accented with a green patinaed bronze hops leaf.  Fishhooks are made of sterling silver.

The humble beginnings of Hops started as a naturally-growing bitter botanical used by the ancient Romans.  Its soothing and relaxing quality became a cure all to treat common ailments.  It wasn't until 822 AD in Northern France at a Benedictine monastery that its brewing aspect was incorporated in the making of beer.  Now an essential part of the beer-making process, this amber nectar known the world over has been enjoyed by many ever since!
