Junya Kono Wheel-Monk Composite Photo Art

Composite art piece by Japanese artist Junya Kono. This piece tells the story of WA-NYUDO, or Wheel-Monk and translation of the story is included below. Framed work measures 11"x14".

At night, the wheels of an ox cart with the face of monk on it drive down Higashinotoin Street in Kyoto, alblaze with flames. Those who see this are so horrified that they lose their souls. WA-NYUDO does not go near the tag that says "here is SHOBO-NO-SATO (Village of Winning Against Mother)". This is derived from a Chinese legend that a filial devotee did not like the name "SHOBO-NO-SATO" and did not stop there during his journey.
