Joel Pajarito Turtle Pendant

Sterling silver Tufa Cast turtle pendant with a cloud scene in the center of its shell. Pendant hook is open. Tufa is a compressed volcanic ash material. When casting, the artist hand-carves a design into tufa stone – creating a negative space for molten metal to be poured. The use of tufa creates a beautiful, earthy pebble like texture on the silver.

Joel Pajarito, born in 1984 in Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo Pueblo) followed in his grandmother, Mary Lovato’s, and father, Anthony Lovato’s, footsteps. He creates stunning sterling silver Tufa Cast jewelry and ornate inlaid stone work.
