Ceremonial Shyrynka Silk Scarf

Shyrynka is a Bukovynian ceremonial square or rectangular scarf typically woven from hemp or linen threads. Traditionally, young women in Bukovyna would make this shawl to give to their fiance, it is said that there were no identical shawls in the village because everyone had a different fate. To create the "Obryadova" shawl, Vilnodumni reproduced the most popular designs, like the tree of life, flowers, and geometric designs.

Vilnodumni is a Ukrainian collective committed to keeping Ukrainian artists and their culture strong, they seek to popularize the work of artists and cultural motifs through modern day apparel and accessories.

Scarf measures 32" x 32". 100% Silk.
