Accessories
This reversible necklace can be worn featuring an elaborate display of five mosaic tear drop pendants, or highlight the warm tones of spiny oyster shell. The necklace itself featured soft turquoise cylinder beads and one larger square inlay bead.
Charlene Sanchez Reano is from San Felipe and married into the Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo Pueblo). She learned jewelry-making from her sister-in-law, Angie Reano, who revived mosaic inlay among Kewa jewelers. Charlene and her husband Frank collaborate on much of her work. Charlene is responsible for the designing and placement of the mosaic pieces and Frank focuses on the silver and shell work.
Necklace measures 18.5”. Center pendant is 1.75” by 1”.
