Navajo Wedding Basket Kit

Wedding Baskets are made by both the Navajo and the Paiute and are used in a variety of ceremonies. This kit teaches one-rod, two-rod and three-rod coiled basketry.  Beautiful color step-by-step photos of the basketry process.  Booklet includes detailed information and history on the Wedding Basket.

Kit includes:  fiber rush, raffia and tapestry needles.  Kit makes one 6" wide basket.

Ages 12 and up, adult participation necessary for younger ages.

Looks like fun

Note: I did not buy this kit. However, what I've learned from making similar items, is that it is easier to weave a larger platter (or basket) than one this size. Especially if your fingers are no longer nimble. Otherwise, I'd be tempted to buy. The larger ones are fun to make.
