Classic retablo featuring Nuestra Senora de los Dolores (Our Lady of Sorrows), where Mary, mother of Jesus is referred to in relation to sorrows in life. The feast of Our Lady of Sorrows is celebrated September 15. 

Maria Romero Cash is a native-born Hispanic raised in Santa Fe, the daughter of prominent traditional tin-work artists, the late Senaida and Emilio Romero. Marie has become a leading authority on the Santero tradition in New Mexico. As an artist, she distinguishes herself by bringing together a vast knowledge of traditional art forms with a zeal for exploration and innovation. She is able to maintain a reverence for the ancestry and tradition of the art forms, while at the same time, inject them with a contemporary sensibility born of worldliness, and the maturity of a developed artist.
