Ramson Lomatewama

Ramson Lomatewama

Hopi

Ramson Lomatewama is a member of the Eagle Clan of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona. Although raised in Flagstaff, Ramson participated in traditional Hopi life by going to the reservation on weekends. He became a well-known kachina doll carver at a young age, but later became fascinated with stained glass and began his career in glass blowing. He is best known for his blown and hand-sculpted glass spirit figures and corn maidens, which are drawn from classic Hopi iconography, in particular rock art in Horseshoe Canyon in Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
