Isabel Ferreira-De Puy was born in Lisbon, Portugal. She grew up just outside New York City and graduated from the New School/Parsons School of Design. Intending to move to Barcelona, she made a pit stop in New Mexico, met her husband, the late noted artist and legend John De Puy (a Taos Modernist) and never left. Isabel has been painting and exhibiting regionally, in the Southwest, for nearly 30 years. Her painting process involves starting out in a small-scale format in the form of miniature oils. Those studies are inspiration for larger works. Working exclusively with oils on canvas and paper, her artwork is contemporary in style and entirely inspired by nature.
