Ramona Calabaza (Kewa Pueblo, Santo Domingo Pueblo): Ramona Calabaza has always been a full-time jewelry maker. She learned to drill, cut, and string stones from her mother, Josephine Coriz. This style of jewelry fabrication is a painstaking process, rolling and cutting small beads from stone by hand. These delicate beads, known as heishi, are a signature of jewelers from Santo Domingo.
