Ramson Lomatewama is a member of the Eagle Clan of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona. Although raised in Flagstaff, Ramson participated in traditional Hopi life by going to the reservation on weekends. He became a well-known kachina doll carver at a young age, but later became fascinated with stained glass and began his career in glass blowing. He is best known for his blown and hand-sculpted glass spirit figures and corn maidens, which are drawn from classic Hopi iconography, in particular rock art in Horseshoe Canyon in Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
Spirit figure measures 6 1/2" tall. Hallmarked and dated on the base.
Loved my purchase. Arrived quickly and well packed. I have four other Ransom Lomatewama glass figures and love them. Only one problem—I am a museum member, but can never find a way to indicate it on the order form.
